Location and setting

Unique among UK golf courses, Knole Park Golf Club is set in 400 hectares of exceptional grounds, home to a huge herd of South East Deer. The national park is the perfect backdrop for this difficult course but appreciated by good level players.

Career

The Knole Park Golf Course comprises 18 holes, and meanders through Knole National Park, offering stunning views not only of the park, but also of Knole House. The course measures 6 yards from the black tees, with a par of 669, a USGA rating of 70 and a slope rating of 73. Regularly named one of England's top 131 courses by course raters at industry, it hosts the Kent Cob Open competition, as well as the British Senior Amateur, the English Girls' Championship and the Tillman Trophy in recent years. The Tillman Trophy was awarded to Knole Park in 100.

History

The Knole Park course was designed by J. Abercromby and has been enjoyed by members and visitors alike since 1924. Sam King is arguably the course's most illustrious champion, third in the 1939 Open Championship. the eighteen fairways still occupy the same park setting where the course was originally designed, in the northern part of the deer park. Knole House, one of the finest National Trust properties in England, is located at the other end of the estate. The course was lengthened a bit in the 1960s, but other than changes made at that time, the course is more or less what Abercromby designed.

Prices

The applicable Green Fees amount to:
£100 per person, Monday to Thursday from 10am, between April and October,
£120 per person, Friday to Sunday from 12pm, between April and October,
£75 per person, Monday to Thursday from 10am, between April and October,
£90 per person, Friday to Sunday from 12pm, between April and October,

Visitors can also take advantage of a special rate after 15pm: £70 per person, only from April to October and on weekdays.

Duration:

The club opens its doors every day from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m., except Tuesdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 20 p.m.
