Shooters Hill Golf Club is located in County Greenwich, South East London, near Blackheath and just over a mile from the now famous O2 Arena. The strength of Shooters Hill Golf Club is its year round course, with stunning views over the North Kent countryside. The course offers a challenging test of park golf, requiring precise shots on high quality greens in order to achieve a good score.
The 18-hole course is a tough but fair test of golf, good shot selection is essential for a good score. The course has a number of challenging holes. The signature hole of the course is the picturesque tenth hole.
Shooters Hill Club has a rich history: the name 'Shooters' derives from when archers practiced on the site, hundreds of years before the advent of golf, and a time when Shooters Hill provided excellent cover for highwaymen. Golf was first played here in 1903, when a 3-hole course was opened. In 1907 a full 18-hole course was laid out by Willie Park and the landed property was purchased several years later, along with Lowood Manor. The course was then completely remodeled in the 1930s by Harris and Colt and today offers a first class test of golf.
Green Fees are £60 for visitors. Guests of club members must pay an entrance fee of £35. Visitors are only allowed on weekdays.
