Located 5 kilometers from the city of Sunderland, about a ten minute journey on the A1018 and A184, Boldon Golf Club is a park-like course which has large, relatively flat grounds. Golfers appreciate its unexpected difficulty and bucolic landscapes.
The Boldon Golf Club course is a pleasant challenge, consisting of 18 holes on a course of 6348 yards par 72: the par is a good indication of the many challenges that await players, even experienced, on this course. The Boldon course certainly includes wide fairways and good greens which suggest a good game, but it is also strewn with interesting and difficult obstacles to overcome, requiring concentration and perseverance.
Founded in 1912, Boldon Golf Club was fortunate to have its current course laid out in 1926 by the famous Harry Vardon, one of the leading golf course architects of the early 20th century. Previously, the club had a 9-hole course located in another town. Since its move and the extension of its course, the club has grown and now has many visitors as well as 700 members.
Green Fees are £25 weekdays and £30 weekends.
The club is open from 7:30 a.m. to 16 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 16 p.m. on weekends.
