The Fulwell Golf Club offers a located in Twickenham, not far from the city center of London. It is easily accessible by car via the M3, but it is also possible to come to Fulwell by train from Waterloo. Its picturesque setting, its ease of access and the possibility of playing on green fairways all year round explains the success of the club, unchanged since its foundation.
The Fulwell course is a park-like course, measuring 6475 yards, par 71, featuring wide tree-lined fairways and quality greens. It offers a challenge and a rewarding experience for golfers of all skill levels. The well-guarded greens and natural obstacles of all kinds force players to maintain their level of attention and concentration at the highest level, throughout this course, which can prove to be challenging for the uninitiated.
The history of the course dates back to 1921, when it was designed by JH Taylor, Harry Colt and Alister Mackenzie. The original layout did not have just one route, but two; however, the second closed definitively with the requisition of the land during the war. After the war, JSF Morrison of Colt, Alison, and Morrison was commissioned to redesign the course: it was on this occasion that eleven new holes were created, and only seven holes reused. The new course opened for play in 58.
Green Fees are £70 for 18 holes on weekdays, and £90 per day. On Saturday, visitors can play from 14pm for a fee of £30.
The club opens its doors from 8 a.m. to 18 p.m., but is closed on Sundays.
