Although Mill Hill is located easily accessible from the M1, this club seems lost in the middle of the English countryside when you find yourself on the course. It is a perfect place to relax for a getaway, but also to take on a fun and stimulating golf challenge.
The 18-hole course at Mill Hill is a perfect example of park-style golf, surrounded by beautiful forest and featuring balanced long and short holes, wide fairways and few bunkers. It measures 6247 yards, by 70; the Mill Hill course can prove a bit taxing for novices, despite its apparent ease, especially because of the blind shots to overcome, but which provide a lot of satisfaction to conquer.
Since its founding in 1923, Mill Hill Golf Club has come a long way. Its course was initially traced on the same date by the architect JF Abercrombie. The famous architect behind Worplesdon, Coombe Hill and Addington made his skills available to the Mill Hill club to create an 18-hole course. The initial route, however, underwent modifications due to the ravages of war, then later, in order to build a major highway. At that time, it was S. Cotton who had the responsibility of advising the course redesign project. Since then, there have been few changes to report on the Mill Hill course.
