Located a few kilometers from the town of Buckingham, the Buckingham Golf Club is accessible by the A421. Its ease of access by road does not detract from its serenity and its picturesque charm: a clever mix of natural and man-made obstacles, the Buckingham course is a good test of golf and a place calm and relaxation popular with sports enthusiasts.
At 6068 yards par 70, the Buckingham course is a perfectly scenic and balanced 18-hole park-style course. Golfers will have to overcome successive natural and artificial obstacles; some holes, notably the par four of the fifth, are also particularly trying. For this fairway, the river crosses it and therefore requires an accurate tee shot. This task is made even more difficult by the large number of trees that surround it, as well as by the bunkers on the sides of the green. Buckingham is a test of precision and perseverance, but satisfaction is there at the end of the course!
The club was founded in 1914, but it would seem that even before its establishment, golfers played on a 5-hole course in the same geographical area. From 1920 the club became a full members club, and in 1927 the clubhouse was built. However, it was not until 1977 that the 9-hole course became an 18-hole. Since 2004, the club has undertaken extensive work to bring the course up to USGA rules.
The green fees for this club are as follows: during the summer period, the club charges £45 for a game on weekdays and £50 at weekends. In winter, the game will cost you £35 from Monday to Friday and £40 on Saturday and Sunday.
The club is open from 8 a.m. to 17 p.m. all week.
