Santo António Golf

Onyria Palmares Golf takes shape in the natural amphitheater of Lagos Bay. Robert Trent Jones II shaped a great European golf course. The challenge given to this American designer was to design a 27-hole course that maximizes the potential of its extraordinary environment.
The result is a golf course of breathtaking natural beauty that is a pleasure to play. The course opened 18 holes in October 2010 and 27 holes in June 2011 and it has matured well since.
The Alvor Course
In the northern part of the site, the Alvor Course has a Parkland golf character with ancient trees and lovely views over the Monchique hills. The unevenness is an integral part of the design of this nine hole course. Indeed, the majority of the holes of the course go up on the hillside or go down in small valleys. The ParkLand character briefly disappears with a series of holes offering more extensive views. An overview of the dunes and links type holes like the sixth and seventh holes.
The Lagos route
This course incorporates the only two lakes that can be found on the entire site. At the third hole a short Par 3 and at the sixth a superb Par 4. Holes seven and eight plunge golfers into the vast dunes of the southwestern part of the Resort. The route ends with a climb up to the Club-House in a wilder setting.
The course of Praia
The third nine holes at Onyria Palmares is certainly the golf course that every great designer dreams of having the privilege of creating and the golfer of playing. A seaside landscape with wind dunes and a wild and natural setting. The four seaside holes are between the beach and the railway line. This Course offers golfers a real golfing challenge. Indeed, you will have to know how to play all the golf shots and master all your trajectories to tame this real Links. This dune character continues through the rest of the Praia Golf Course until the last hole a steeply uphill par-5, which rises from the dunes through a deep valley to an amphitheater just below the clubhouse.
