The Golf de Rouen Mont-Saint-Aignan is located in Mont-Saint-Aignan, a pretty French town in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region.
Perfectly maintained, in a natural, wooded and hilly setting, the golf course of Rouen Mont-Saint-Aignan deploys its greens and fairways in an enchanting setting and requires good mastery of all golf strokes.
The golf course of Rouen Mont-Saint-Aignan
The 18 holes can be divided into three very different sequences of play. First of all, the first seven holes are short and reward the golfer's strategy, the precision of the approach play and the putting. No need for a driver very far, a solid set of irons should allow you to chain "Par" and why not a few "Birdies".
Then come the five holes of the valley. A delicate golfing experience where other parts of the game are put to the test: sloping play and complicated greens to read in an environment devoid of horizontal benchmarks. This is L'amen Corner of this century-old golf course.
Finally, the last six holes find the plateau, in a landscape of wooded park where the length becomes decisive.
Located on the heights of Rouen, the Golf de Bois Guillaume combines the pleasure of playing and technical difficulties. The hilly and wooded course has water obstacles, bunkers and other traps that will surprise you throughout your game.
The course
With its 2400m, it is longer than a classic compact 9-hole course. The architect who made it is called Thierry Sprecher. Very renowned in his field, he worked on this project, in close collaboration with the founder-owner-manager of the golf course. The goal was to allow beginners to try it out but also to offer a nine-hole course allowing experienced players who have little time to benefit from a quality tool for training.
This fairly technical 9 hole par 35 is very hilly. Indeed, you rarely have your feet flat, far from it and that requires knowing how to adjust your stance and your swing according to the slope. Very well maintained, departures, greens, ... It offers interesting points of view thanks to its position in height, while skirting hundreds of meters of forest. As for the fairways, you have to wait for nature to do its work, but it is progressing quickly!
The route winds through the towns of Bois-Guillaume (11 ha) and Saint-Martin-du-Vivier (4 ha). With its two par 5s and a few other fairly complex holes to play, it fits naturally into the landscape, following the undulations of the terrain, without wearing down the ardor of those who roam it almost daily.
The Golf Training Center
Next door, the Golf Training Center will also allow you to work on all the golf strokes necessary to tame your course.
The center in a few figures:
9 holes, 2310m long, 100% sand quality green.
100 stations dedicated to big games (36 covered and lighted, 40 uncovered and 24 on grass), more than 300 meters of driving
Large 600 m2 putting green with plateau.
Large training bunker.
3 pitch and putt holes.
Coated parking lot with 100 spaces.
Club house with restaurant
Open to everyone, adults and children, beginners and experienced.

It evolves in a majestic environment, in a loop of the Seine, on the fruit and orchard route and a stone's throw from the superb towers of the abbey. Made of forest areas on a dozen holes and plains, you never get bored. Also, it is embellished with some strategically placed obstacles (bunkers and lakes).

A course as technical as it is pleasant: The Saint Saens course is a par 71 of 6009 meters. Varied, it is broken down into three distinct parts: the river, the forest, and the plateau which each offer different difficulties.
The “river” part from 1 to 5 is characterized by the Varenne which borders the fairways and the greens.
The "forest" part from 6 to 10 winds through the forest of beeches and hundred-year-old oaks.
The "plateau" part, the final, where the less narrow fairways allow the hitters to breathe a little, to finish with the cruel par 3 N ° 17 and, at 18, on a green bordered by bunkers with the superb castle in the background which offers the whole a real majesty.
Saint Saens offers you to play all possible golf shots in a unique and sumptuous setting. The omnipresence of the Eawy Forest and the castle dominating the valley give the golf course the elegance and natural charm of the Normandy countryside.
