History
For history lovers, some information on the origins of the castle. This castle was for the first time a stately home in 1583, when the de Vion family acquired the estate, a very simple edifice composed only of main buildings and an advanced wing, without moldings, without masks.
Of the old castle surrounded by ditches, only a part remains, clearly showing the period of the XNUMXth century. The conservation of these buildings and the beauty of the exhibition make it a most pleasant home. Warée, garden architect, was able to take advantage of the grounds of the castle park.
He planted trees and shrubs grouped together by contrast and harmony; dark hues in the foreground, then ashy and tender green foliage. The estate remained in the de Vion family until the beginning of the 20th century.

The Golf de Seraincourt was designed in 1964 by the famous Scottish architect Fred HAWTREE, at the origin of famous courses in Ile-de-France and around the world.
18 holes, Par 71, 5847 meters long, the Golf de Seraincourt offers throughout the course a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside, in the exceptional and unspoiled setting of the French Vexin.
Less than 40 minutes from Paris, 20 minutes from Orgeval, Cergy and Mantes-la-Jolie, you will discover a hilly course with a varied layout. which offers an interesting challenge for golfers of all levels.
The outward journey: The first 9 holes
The outward journey (the first 9 holes) is slightly hilly and does not present any real difficulties. Hole number 8 will however be tricky to negotiate. This is a downhill par 3 of about 150 yards from the back tees. An out of bounds on the right and a ditch on the left will not leave you much room to reach this small defended green in addition to a bunker ... It is one of the most difficult holes in the golf course of Seraincourt.
The return: The last 9 holes
The return (the last 9 holes) is more sporty and you will end with the magnificent hole number 18. A downhill par 5 leading back to the clubhouse. The Big Hitters can try to take it in half. The others will have a third downhill wedge that must be perfectly balanced to reach this fairly wide but shallow green.
The Seraincourt golf course team brings its efficiency and competence to maintain a quality of play throughout the year.

This marvelous route takes shape through the Baron Empain park with its hundred-year-old trees and its ponds. It is at the same time technical, varied and nicely laid out, in a wooded decor sheltered from noise. The finish is beautiful with hole n ° 18: a "par 5" downhill where the drives beat length records.
Infrastructures
Infrastructure level, the practice is up to the course, of high quality. Just like the spacious 5 m500 clubhouse with all the services (seminars, receptions, dinners, etc.) that one would expect from a large club. With an alternation of wide and narrow greens but always steep and fast, Marly is a technical course bordered by magnificent natural areas. The double green of 6 and 17 (2m²) can impose a putt of 500m. On the 50th, an impressive downhill par 11 offers a view of old outbuildings and our lime tree, Joyenval's emblem. Par 72 of 6 242meters
It offers players a walk away two kilometers from the Club House. Facing the forest, the course is both wild and manicured. You will quickly forget that you are so close to Paris. Robert Trent Jones Sr offers players a walk along the Retz Desert. The Retz course offers remarkable and varied holes: The 4 and 5, narrow and in the forest, require skill and strategy. From the hole N ° 6, it crosses here and there the rû de Buzot which crosses the property, creating obstacles often in play. The 11, a very impressive par 3, is considered to be the most difficult hole of the 2 courses. Lined with paths, the Retz course is open to golf carts practically all year round.

History and traditions
On June 15, 1633, Louis XIII acquired the 75 hectare estate of Fourqueux to donate it to his doctor, Charles Bouvard. During the years that followed, the estate remained the property of the successors of the King's “tapper”.
In 1923, with the exception of Villa Colin and the 1.5 hectare land kept by Charles and Marie Marret, the area until then operated by a farmer, was leased to a circle to create a golf course. Léon Visinet, member of the Automobile Club d'Ile de France, presides over the creation of the Golf & Tennis Club of Marly & Fourqueux.
The course was officially inaugurated on October 29, 1924. The golf course hosted international championships and Arnaud Massy established a course record there. With the war, the Fourqueux golf course ceased its activity on May 1, 1940. During the war, the area was used by German forces. Then it becomes again a property intended for the breeding of race horses.
In 1959, the announced closure of a golf course located in the town of Marly led a group of players to search for a nearby site to recreate a golf course.
The past and the beauty of the site appeal to the founding committee. The domain of Fourqueux is selected. On an area of 75 hectares, it was decided to revive a golf course by making 27 holes in a green setting. The course is designed by Lou Petitt and Hawtree is supervising the work. The ground is modeled. 26 trees and shrubs are planted. The golf course was inaugurated on May 000, 11.
A tree-lined course of great diversity
The course of Fourqueux is also traversed like an arboretum. Indeed, more than 50 species of conifers and 170 of deciduous trees can be spotted there. Native trees such as alders, chestnuts, oaks, ash and beeches inhabit the nearby forest of Marly. Trees established when the golf course was created and in the following years. Among them are numerous and diverse conifers. Spruce, fir, pine, douglas, cedar, cypress, sequoias and araucaria. Hardwoods of all kinds: hornbeam, maples, plane trees, lime trees, tall poplars, aspens, weeping willows, ...
Giant slalom between the trees, discovery of smells and colors, occasional change of scenery, impeccable upkeep of the course ... This is what awaits you at the Fourqueux golf course.
