Pevero Golf Club is the first golf resort in Sardinia. In the 70s Karim Aga Khan wanted to make Sardinia a leading European destination for golfers. Robert Trent Jones, who at the time was one of the few American designers with an international clientele, was asked to design the course (another of his courses, at the Sperone Golf Club, was subsequently built not far from there, on the neighboring island in Corsica).
The setting of sheltered coves and wooded hills along the Mediterranean, is simply superb. The first nine holes follow Pevero Bay, with water hazards at the 6th and 7th holes. The final 9 holes descend along the Cala di Volpe seafront, and again the water kicks in. But what golfers will remember most in Pevero is the exquisite surroundings.
