Ranked "5th Best Golf in France 2018/2019" by the American review Golf Digest, the Grand Saint-Emilionnais Golf Club ranks first in the class after only three and a half years of opening to the public.
An exceptional course, nestled in a century-old forest and surrounded by vines, close to the village of Saint-Émilion.
This golf course is the culmination of the dream of the whole Mourgue d'Algue family, made up of former champions (more than 80 national and international titles to their credit) and passionate about this sport.

- The talented American architect Tom Doak was able to highlight a quality natural site: " this site reminds me of the natural hilly course of the Augusta National in Georgia, host of the Masters. I also sought to reproduce some of the characteristics of the design of the famous Scottish architect of the 20s, Alistair MacKenzie, especially for his greens so varied and imaginative. ". Mission accomplished !

The minimalist style desired by the architect respects the natural landforms of the land, with very little earthworks giving a subtle effect blended into the landscape, without seeking spectacularity, but paying particular attention to the quality of the course. - A course that fits in with the times and perfectly respects the environment in which it fits.
Le Grand Saint-Emilionnais Golf Club made the choice to plant a grass dit environmentally friendly, its slow growth and its low consumption of water and fertilizers are a tremendous asset for the sustainability of golf. In addition, the golf course exclusively uses rainwater collected in winter for watering the course, allowing precise and economical water management.

The green fees include an electric cart or a hand cart and access to the practice area on grass with balls provided free of charge. For greater playing comfort, no outside person will be added to your game.

Teaching
Under the leadership of Bertrand Pinard, pro PGA teacher, theGrand Saint-Emilionnais Golf Club golf school offers lessons once a week, outside school holidays, to all young people from 5 to 18 years old. The pupils are grouped by level of play and by age. Groups are generally made up of 4 to 8 young people. Classes start at the end of August and end in June. They last 1 hours, Wednesday or Saturday. The equipment and practice balls are available to children. The total cost for the year is 30 euros.
Born in Paris in 1972 and from a sporting environment from a young age, Bertrand developed a passion for golf at the age of 15 and became more professional in 1995. His experiences in French and foreign clubs, the variety of audiences he has trained and his involvement in the federal sector have made him a complete golf teacher who respects his sport.
"Playing golf is a state of mind, a way of expressing challenge, sharing and self-control."
His teaching is based on an individualized, simple and effective approach. He likes to offer fun exercises that allow you to approach the technical aspect of the golf swing. Small games and Driving remain his favorite sectors. Bertrand has been teaching at the Grand Saint-Emilionnais Golf Club since July 2019 using the most modern techniques.
