The Avalon Golf Estate, the latest golf course in Mauritius, is a real 18-hole course. It is located inland, and complements the golf courses in the south of the island. For connoisseurs, the most obvious point of reference will be the Domaine de Bois Chéri. Designed by the famous South African architect Peter Matkovich, the Avalon Golf Estate extends over the heights overlooking the south coast of the island. The environment highlights the varied and lush vegetation of this area located in the south of Mauritius.
The Avalon Golf Estate winds its way through the magnificent Domaine de Bois Sec. You will follow tea plantations, cross bush landscapes planted with "Fandia Fern" trees. This diversity makes it a course with a unique landscape and totally different from all the other golf courses in Mauritius.
The first 4 holes are played downhill offering a panoramic view of the south coast and the Indian Ocean.
The course offers very varied holes in their design, and the shortest are not the simplest, however, such as hole number 4 which requires good tactical sense.
The golf course is located on the heights of the South of Mauritius and the wind will obviously have a great influence on the game, offering golfers a different course depending on its intensity and its origin.
