Designed in the 70s, Rinkven was definitively established in 1981, its course being on the current site - a beautifully tranquil 'Kempen' field region, located just 15 km from Antwerp.
Paul Rolin, renowned Belgian golfer and golf course architect was responsible for the original development of the courses, which during all these years were developed in three stages until their current state of 36 holes. More recently renowned English architect Hawtree has made significant changes to bring both courses up to modern competition standards.
The two courses are a mixture of forest and park, presenting bodies of water on several holes. A variety of starting positions provide a serious challenge for players of all skill levels. The North Course - 6.091m par 72 - is the longer of the two courses, while the South Course - 5.066m par 71 - has a greater variety of holes, requiring the use of all the clubs of the bag.
Rinkven also offers various training facilities. The driving range consists of a large practice on grass and several covered and lighted stations for those wishing to train in the evening. A new short game practice green measuring no less than 1000 m² is available. It is embellished with bunkers and surroundings, just like the greens on the course, to reproduce training conditions as realistic as possible. Another novelty: a narrow strip of 100 m, the pitching green. Two putting greens complete the offer.
Before or after sport, go to the “37th, Tavern behind the Green” for a drink, a snack, a sandwich or a tasty meal. Rinkven offers a new clubhouse and caddyhouse, modern in style. The Rinkven Golf & Country Club is one of the best golf clubs in Belgium!
