Located in the heart of the historic Arenberg Park, the 2 courses of Golf Club Enghien take full advantage of the hundred-year-old trees which are the pride of the place.
The course championship « Arenberg ”, 18 holes Par 72 of 6.393m, unfolds its fairways through undulating terrain and bypassing several bodies of water.
It is the work of renowned architect Bruno Stenseels. Hole 2 is one of the most spectacular par 5 in the country; the end is just as impressive. It is indeed necessary to cross the arm, rather wide, of a piece of water which joins the thatched cottage, today transformed into a charming Clubhouse.
This course is at the same time old - by its environment - and modern - by its daring design.
The Club has a welcoming, bilingual and friendly atmosphere.
It also emphasizes golf instruction - via a compact 9-hole course, the ' Brunehault »- and offers different formulas to allow young and old to discover golf or to perfect their swing.
Of all the golf courses in Belgium, you will only find in Enghien hundred-year-old oaks which attended the secret discussions of the great Europeans ... Indeed, the Arenberg course inaugurated in 2002 is located within a domain built by the Dukes of Arenberg, one of the largest families in Europe in the XNUMXth century.
The undulations of the ground reveal at the bend of a fairway these famous majestic trees, some of which are over 600 years old. And what about the plunging view from the green of 2 on one of the branches of the Pavillon des 7 étoiles, a jewel of cosmology? If the atmosphere is history, with these fairways observed by these noble centenarians, the present is certainly contemporary with a resolutely modern design.
The priority and originality of this 18-hole course aim to create a "strategic course". Each hole has its own personality and is as much a challenge as a reward for the panoramic view offered. The games will have to deal with the environment, the shape of the greens and the water obstacles that are in turn Warelles, the Odru and the Canal; the three streams and ponds that make up the course.
Opened in September 2008, this compact 9-hole course of 1377 m (par 28), is built on the site of the old four-hole and driving range dating from the creation of Golf Club Enghien (1992). It is an excellent tool for work and fun for beginners and experienced players. The course is also qualifying.
