Recognized as theone of the most beautiful courses in France, Gulf of Fontainebleau offers a real adventure between rocks, heather, broom and bunkers. Inaugurated in 1909, the Fontainebleau golf course is theone of the oldest golf courses in France. Traced by the French Julien CHANTEPIE, redesigned in 1920 by Tom SIMPSON, lengthened and modified in 1963 by Fred HAWTREE, it is located in the middle of the forest of Fontainebleau, 800 meters from the city, on the former floor of the imperial hunts.
Your fairways, relatively narrow, are bordered by trees of various species, pines, but also birches, cherry trees, beeches and hundred-year-old oaks. They are very defended by 103 bunkers of fine sand, but also by thick copses of heather, lilac, ferns and broom, which make it charm and difficulty and compose, according to the seasons, a symphony of colors and smells.
Large traditional golf course, Fontainebleau is considered by many players as one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe. It was ranked in 2001, by the readers of the magazine Golf Européen, 1st Golf in France, all criteria combined, and figure 17th in the Top 50 golf courses of the European continent of "Golf world".

The Mouchy Cup was created in 1927 by the Duke of MOUCHY who was then a member of the Golf de Fontainebleau Committee and President of the Union des Golfs de France, which was to become the French Golf Federation. The winner of this first edition was AM VAGLIANO, an illustrious figure in golf. Today this competition brings together all the best French amateurs from all over France. It has become, by the quality of its "field", the 1 st French Grand Prix and is recognized by the players as the "French Master Amateur".

23/10/2022 au 17:57This is a truly beautiful golf course and unforgettable experience. I am an American who has been fortunate to have played or been a member at many top rated venues over the years. With the increased attention to maintenance that is evident since my last time here, I can say with confidence that Golf de Fontainebleau has been returned to its position as one of the finest clubs in Europe. It is a joy to play and there is no finer place to enjoy a beer than on the terrace overlooking the 9th green. Take my advice and stay at Hotel de Londres directly across from the Chateau where the owners are serious golfers and members at this exclusive club.
