Located in Lamorlaye in the heart of the Chantilly forest in the Oise, the Lys Chantilly Golf Club was inaugurated in 1929. Originally there was only one 18-hole course: the famous Chênes course.
The history of golf is prestigious: in 1934, the French men's team championship was held there, after which many other major tournaments followed where the local teams shone. Reputation made, the golf course also became a tennis club, welcoming the famous “Musketeers” Borotra, Brugnon, Cochet and Lacoste.
After the creation in 1976 of the 9-hole Bouleaux course, soon increased to 18 holes in 1980, the golf course underwent a vast renovation campaign in 2007:
renovation of the two 18-hole courses: Oaks and Birches
creation of the 9-hole compact
rehabilitation of period residences ...
There are now two superb courses totaling 36 holes which perpetuate the tradition of excellence. Thus, the Golf du Lys Chantilly today ranks among the best golf courses in France.
Route: The Birches
18 Holes / Par 68
Successively laid out by architects Patrick Cros (1976) then Robert Berthet (1980), the 18-hole Bouleaux course is shorter and narrower than the oldest of the Oaks. He therefore requires great technical mastery and a solid set of irons to keep the ball in play.
Route: The oaks
18 Holes / Par 70
High hundred-year-old trees protecting the fairways from the wind, sandy soils protected from water and frost ... These are the natural assets of the 18-hole Les Chênes course, valued by the architect Tom Simpson when it was created in 1929. As for the difficulties, they arise. there are deceptive false dishes, bunkers lurking in the hollow of hillocks, corridors with vanishing lines sometimes narrow, sometimes wide: you measure your gestures with finesse and concentration to reach the end of the game.

The Golf de l'Isle Adam has remained faithful to the philosophy which guided the architect Ronald Fream when he designed and conceived this golf course, according to which “a good course must allow any player to set a goal that he can achieve. and must appeal to both beginners and the best players ”.
From its opening, the course quickly gained a good reputation, by the frankness and the very wide variety of design and environment of its holes, laid out partly in the forest and for the other on a beautiful plateau: A magnificent synthesis between British and American trends. Located 15 km from Porte de Bercy, the Ormesson golf course is a Sports Association whose main activity is dedicated to the practice and discovery of golf. The Ormesson golf course is one of the very first courses built in France by Count Wladimir d'Ormesson in 1925. It was destroyed during the Second World War and my grandparents, André and Antonella d'Ormesson then appealed to the English architect CK Cotton in 1965 to give a second life to this place.
Ormesson Golf Course
18 holes | 6132m | By 72 | Architect: CK COTTON
In Ormesson, there are as many routes as there are seasons! And if you come to play here in winter, you will rediscover the course in spring, but also in summer and autumn. Faced with golfers, the course defends itself well and golfers never tire of it! Sporty, wooded and hilly, these are in three words the character traits of the Ormesson course.
A sporting course
Le Sportif et le Vallonné begins with hole 1. Nothing very original, except that this number 1 is really delicate, a par 4. A distance of 420 meters with a descent, with several stages, crossing a piece of water and a climb to the green. The golfer will have to work at the same time the distance, to avoid the plantations of trees as harmonious as trapping, to reach the green well defended by its bunkers. Yes the golfer must be informed and focused to approach this course designed by an architect fan of great players.
An elegant course
Thus wooded the course is elegant. Trees and paths merge into a whole which seems drawn by nature itself. In Ormesson, we find landscapes inspired by the English countryside, Swiss or Italian perspectives and this Ile-de-France signature. The trees play on a palette of colors, the dark green of the tall cedars, the tender spring leaves become clearer with summer, changing from rust to ochres.
Trees are really part of life in Ormesson, discreet and indispensable. They welcome the secrets of amateurs delighted with their exploits or professionals disappointed by a miss. They are discreet, always there, they are the changing setting for moments of sport and happiness.
