PGA Tour, Kaymer alone at the head of the Memorial tournament, Tiger Woods 25th

The German Martin Kaymer took sole control of the Memorial Tournament, counting for the American professional golf circuit (PGA), during the third round played on Saturday in Dublin (Ohio).

Kaymer, who shared first place at the start of the day with American Troy Merritt and South Korean Lee Kyoung-hoon, returned a card of 66, six under par for a total of 201 (-15).

The former world No. 1, now 186th in the ranking of the best players on the planet, is two strokes ahead of Australian Adam Scott (203, -13).

Three players, including the American Jordan Spieth, share in 3rd place, four strokes behind the leader (205, -11).

Kaymer, whose career has been disrupted in recent years by wrist and shoulder injuries, has not won on the PGA Tour since winning the 2014 US Open.

The English Justin Rose is still 10th (209, -7) while the American Tiger Woods, winner of the event five times, should not hang a sixth victory.

The winner of the Masters 2019, his first Grand Slam title in eleven years, has grabbed a little ground (25th), but is eleven strokes behind the leader (212, -4).

"I am too far from the head and there are a lot of players in front of me (...) I will not win this tournament", regretted the "Tiger".

“I want to make a final round by playing positively on Sunday. I hope to play better than I did in the first three rounds and be able to approach the US Open on a positive note, ”he added.

The American Bryson Dechambeau, winner in 2018 of the event organized by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, is 59th with a total of 217 (+1).
