Designed by the famous golf architect, William "Rocky" Roquemore, author of several projects in Portugal, the Belas Golf Course, in Lisbon, is located in the mountains between Belas and Queluz, in Portugal. It fits perfectly into the Country Club's property development program of houses spread over the hills, with views over the Belas golf course and the valleys.
The Belas golf course is a championship course. The layout is extraordinary, with many fairways and greens located in wide valleys, it offers an unforgettable panorama to golfers and visitors. The Belas Golf Course, near Lisbon, is divided into two very different 9 holes (the outward and return): the first 9 of the outward journey cross a naturally preserved landscape; the return passes through some houses which are part of the development, and has been improved by the planting of a thousand trees, mainly pines which harmoniously delimit the fairways.
At Belas Golf Course, there are two holes renowned for their beauty and American inspiration: the 2nd hole, a Par 5 called Augusta, was built in homage to the 13th hole of the famous golf course where the Masters tournament takes place; hole 18, a memorable Par 4, has been dubbed "The Big Hole", as players must make the second shot about 180 yards from the green, which is well protected by a lake.
The first sustainable golf course in Portugal, Belas Clube de Campo, near Lisbon, Portugal, has received several sustainability certifications, highlighting its excellent environmental efforts (QEMS, EN NP ISO 14001, European Program "Committed to Green ").
