The Golf National will host the French Open 2020

Golf National Open de France 2020 Albatros Course

The oldest tournament in continental Europe will once again be played at national golf. Indeed, the French Open will not be relocated. The European Tour, organizer of the tournament, should formalize the information very soon.

The French Open 2020 will take place on the course of the Albatross at the Golf National between July 2 and 5. He will therefore not go on the Terre Blanche golf course in the Var in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur as it was in question.

Keith Pelley, the president of the European Tour who had considered transferring this tournament to the south has finally resigned. "We are open to a change of location, he had not hesitated to stress during an interview with several French media. There is no reason that the tournament should not change location from time to time. This is done in many countries in Europe. Nothing is official yet but there is indeed the possibility of playing the tournament elsewhere in 2020. "

Several golf courses were then mentioned, in particular the Medoc Golf Resort, current host of the Women's French Open, or the Chantilly golf course, But also Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche, which had received the legendary Lancôme Trophy for several years. Last but not least the Domaine de Terre Blanche, where the director Jean-Marie Casella was waiting to be contacted.

See you this summer to find out who will succeed Nicolas Colsaerts, the winner of the 2019 edition.
