Hideki Matsuyama wins Masters 2021 in Augusta

By winning the Masters 2021, Hideki Matsuyama offered Japan, a golf-loving country, one of the most prestigious trophies in the golf world.

Ten years after making an excellent debut as a top amateur in Augusta, Matsuyama took home the supreme title on Sunday by winning the “Masters Tournament” (the first Grand Slam of the golfing season), becoming the first Japanese to win a major tournament for men.

The best and the worst for Xander Sc Chaudele

Sharing the part of Hideki Matsuyama, the American Xander ScHotele will undoubtedly have some regrets. Indeed, with two bogeys and a double bogey on the first five holes, the world number 6 started badly.

Then, with six birdies between holes 6 and 15, Xander Sc Chaudele was completely back in the race for victory, even narrowly missing the eagle on hole 15, almost quitting his exit from the bunker.

At that moment there was still total suspense. But it was on hole 16 that Xander Sc Chaudele was the first to crack, sending his ball into the water, causing a triple bogey that knocked him out of the race in second place for the benefit of Will Zalatoris.
