With two magnificent golf courses Alcaidea Links and Alcaidea Heathland for a total of 36 holes, sunshine and breathtaking views of the Big Blue, Gibraltar and Africa ... ALCAIDESA LINKS GOLF RESORT is a golf lover's paradise in Mediterranean.
Alcaidesa Links is the only 18 hole links course in southern Europe. It is a Par 72, inaugurated in 1992 and designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark. The topography of the Alcaidesa land is characterized by gentle slopes that descend to the sea and end in a beautiful beach, creating a seafront of almost 2 km. So most of the holes are located along the beach. The difficulty of the course lies mainly in the prevailing winds in the region. One of the peculiarities of the course that impresses visitors the most is its spectacular view of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. Its total length is 5.866 meters.
In 2011, Alcaidesa Links was included among the 20 best links courses on the European continent by the prestigious Golf World magazine.
Many tournaments have been played at Alcaidesa Links, such as 2 PGA of Andalusia in 1993 and 1994, 1 PGA of Spain in 1995, The Ryder Cup Junior Match US vs Europe in 1997.
Alcaidesa Heathland, also has 18 holes for a Par 72. It was designed by former Ryder Cup player and internationally acclaimed track maker Dave Thomas. This course offers a variety of natural landscapes ranging from the plain (holes 1 to 5, 17 and 18) with wide fairways and exceptional views over the Mediterranean, to the valley part, where the holes meander along the hill and incorporate several water obstacles. Its total distance is 6 meters.
