The birth of the brand

The birth of the brand Titleist is quite original. Born of an observation, and a radiography. The story begins in the early 30s, when Phil Young, a young golfer keen on the sport and manager of a rubber molding company misses a small putt, however well contacted.

It is then certain that it is the ball itself which is responsible for this small missed putt. The young golfer then decides to go to a dental office in his town to radio this capricious ball. The results of the radio were unequivocal: The core of the bullet was not centered.

After the right diagnosis, the right treatment

Following this observation, young Young convinces a friend who graduated from a major engineering school to work with him. they then begin to work together on the project for a better quality golf ball. Both ambitious, they want to create the best performing golf ball in the world. They want it to be constant and regular, pleasant to the touch and efficient in terms of distance.

After three years of hard testing, the first Titleist ball was born.
