Worplesdon is one of Surrey's classic moorland courses, laid out in 1908 by JF Abercromby, the greens and bunkers were built by Willie Park Junior.
Built mainly on Bagshot sand, the ground is well drained during the winter period and becomes a perfumed course of woody scents for which the British moors are so famous in summer. The game is possible throughout the year and even the frost does not prevent play. The "signature hole" is the 10th, especially spectacular when the rhododendrons are in bloom. But the masterpiece of the site is the vast expanse of water that is Bridley Pond, this corresponds to the only major water obstacle on the course. But what an obstacle! The rest of the holes wander through wooded moors with intoxicating scents.
Wolplesdon Golf Club is also noted for its view of the Club House which is little changed from what it has been for most of the past hundred years and the visitor is thrilled to walk through the porch in a traditional hallway with wooden beams with this theme continuing into the hallway to the right and the dining room to the left.
Green fees for visitors available Monday to Friday (except holidays) average price 180 Euros for 18 holes.
