The Newburgh-on-Ythan links course, close to Aberdeen and neighbor to Trump International Links, is located halfway between Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay. On the estuary of the Ythan River, it overlooks the North Sea and the Sands of Forvie National Nature Reserve. The club was founded in 1888, but the course has undergone many changes over time, the last and radical transformation dating back to the 90s. A new clubhouse was then inaugurated by the 1999 British Open champion, Paul Lawrie , in 2001. It's a good course requiring a lot of precision.
