Montrose Golf Links Ltd offers a course with a majestic design. It is one of the oldest links in Scotland and the 5th oldest golf course in the world. Montrose Golf Links has hosted many important golfing events during its long history.
In 1845 Prince Albert granted the club his royal patronage. There was a time when it had no less than 25 holes. In 1901 Old Tom Morris was the first to give it its modern look, followed by Willie Park Jnr in 1903.
Its greens, tees and fairways stretch along the North Sea coast with the exception of holes 10 to 13 which are inland. Also, it had the honor of being chosen by the Royal and Ancient as the route for the final qualifications of the British Open at Carnoustie in 1999 and 2007. In addition, it has hosted the Europro Tour every year since 2013. It is located 45km from Dundee and 65 from St Andrews and Aberdeen.
