La Reserva Club Sotogrande is a unique residential estate. It extends over more than 400 hectares between elegant houses and private residences, golf course and country club on the Costa del Sol, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
Carved into a hillside with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and Andalusian hills, the 18-hole La Reserva championship course was designed by renowned golf architect Cabell B. Robinson. Opened in 2003, with wide fairways that lead to large greens, light but daring undulations have made this golf course a must-see for any golfer visiting southern Spain. Club La Reserva is ranked among the 9 best golf courses in Spain by Golf World magazine.
Water is present in over half a dozen holes, but other than one hole, it does not present itself as a frontal hazard. The highlight of this course is undoubtedly hole number 6, a Par-5. An extraordinary view of the sparkling Mediterranean and a spectacular tee shot that must absolutely stay to the left to avoid finding the wooded area. That won't be your only concern here, however. A large lake to the right of the long, narrow green makes this a real danger. A lake protecting the entire length of the fairway on hole 8 which is undoubtedly the signature hole, a Par-4, awaits you to swallow your pretty balls ...
The return gives you a view of the sea, and takes you into the foothills with stunning scenery and changes in altitude in the valleys of the Costa del Sol. You will undoubtedly spend a lot of time on the tee-offs gazing at the stunning properties nestled in the trees and the exceptional panoramas of Andalusia.
