Golf de Guérande

About ten km from the seaside, in the heart of the Brière Regional Natural Park, the Golf de la Baule International Barrière (3 courses for 45 holes) is a haven of peace for golfers and nature lovers. You will find technical and athletic courses for enthusiasts and professionals as well as compact courses for beginners.
History

Created in 1976 in Saint André-des-Eaux, the Golf de la Baule has gradually expanded to become one of the 5 golf courses in France to offer 45 holes.
Initially composed of an 18-hole course designed by the English Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas over 60 hectares, the Golf extended to 27 holes over 100 hectares in 1994.
The Golf had 36 holes in 2000 following renovations by French architect Michel Gayon.
It is from 2001 that the Golf offers 45 holes over 220 hectares which extend over 3 municipalities: La Baule, Saint André-des-Eaux and Guérande.
The Golf de la Baule thus celebrated its 2016th anniversary in 40 and still offers golfing events and federal events.

During these 40 years, the sporting vocation of the Club has never wavered by hosting national and international events such as the 1978 French Open won by Dale Hayes.

The Golf de la Bretesche is located in Missillac, a town in the west of France, in the Loire-Atlantique department, in the Pays de la Loire region

The 18-hole golf course at Domaine de La Bretesche can, with good reason, be proud of being among the most beautiful golf courses in France and even in the world, as Robert Sidorwsky considers it in his book "le golf: 365 courses dans the world ".

Its layout, signed by the English architectural firm Henri Cotton in 1967, fits elegantly into a setting where majestically overlook the towers and ramparts of the castle.
The 18-hole course

The main course deploys its greens and fairways in the middle of a hundred-year-old forest where the multitude of plant species brings a unique cachet to this course. The 18 holes are quite flat, not necessarily very difficult to play, except for a few rather long holes, like hole number 7, a 4 meter long par 420.

You will certainly be charmed by the panorama of green n ° 9 which overlooks the Château de La Breteshe, placed as if by magic on its pond, a real postcard! A course which, without question, allows golfers of all levels to have fun in a sumptuous setting.
Domain
The infinite charm of this area acts as soon as you cross the gate. In the heart of a park with hundred-year-old trees stands a charming XNUMXth century castle, the outbuildings of which house the bedrooms.

Each decorated in an original style, they combine warmth, authenticity and refinement: a happy marriage that can be found in the inventive cuisine of the chef of Montaigu, or in the decor of the bar installed in the old stables whose marble feeders and waterers have been kept.

A true haven of peace, the Cour Carrée spa provides well-being and serenity, while the 18-hole golf course, designed by Henry Cotton, offers a superb view of the castle.
