Glen Golf Club is North Berwick's second course. It is located in the eastern part of the city and next to the famous Links, located in the western part. This is where golfing began in North Berwick in the 17th century. Only a few kilometers from Gullane and Muirfield, it was created at the start of the 20th century.
Compared to its big brother, the Glen is not totally a links type golf course. Indeed, designed on two levels with several "inland" type holes. It offers splendid views over the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock famous rocky islet, bird sanctuary, thanks to its dominant position on top of a cliff.
Its signature hole, the 13, called "Sea Hole", is one of Scotland's most famous par 3s with a superb panoramic view of the sea. It is short, 134m from the white boules, forcing a blind stroke from the tee. to reach the green bordered by the beach and rocks on two sides. It is often compared to hole # 7 at Pebble Beach.
