Presentation

Experts have always regarded the Gardagolf Country Club as one of the best golf courses in Italy built over the past thirty years. Covering an area of 110 hectares, it was designed by British architects Cotton, Pennik Steel & Partners.

The Gardagolf County Club has 27 holes between Rocca di Manerba, Soiano Castle and the Valtenesi hills, with a panoramic view of extraordinary beauty. Cypress, olive trees, hundred-year-old oaks, maritime pines and holm oaks complete the landscape.

There is a strong temptation to stop to look at the scenery, but be careful not to be surprised without being prepared as Gardagolf is a very demanding course.

The red course

The red course winds gently over the hills dominated by the castle of Soiano to the west and the town of Polpenazze to the east. The first 9 holes of Gardagolf offer suggestive views and an interesting and stimulating design for both the expert player and the beginner. The most characteristic hole is the 2, a par 3 with a raised tee and a green frontally defended by a lake and large patches of flowers which mark the depth; it has been awarded as "one of the 500 most beautiful holes in the world" by Golf Magazine.

From the tee of hole 8, the most difficult of the course, the horizon opens up as far as the eye can see on Lake Garda with the frame of Mount Baldo; this long downhill par 4 course is characterized by an insidious water obstacle on the right, a central depression, and on the left dominates the stage the former mansion of the Omodeo family, today a residential complex.

The white course

The white course takes full advantage of the plain that stretches from Soiano to Manerba, and presents holes with interesting characteristics like hole 7, an accentuated dogleg on the left with an insidious lake that devours the balls of overly ambitious tee shots.

Hole 9 uphill with the green at the foot of the Club House is set in a natural amphitheater dotted with centuries-old olive trees; less experienced players have to pass a small lake on the first shot which is characterized by the presence to the left of a century-old chapel.

The yellow course

The yellow course, surrounded by the centenary park of Villa Omodeo, is Gardagolf's youngest, but it is nonetheless interesting and stimulating. The small greens, defended by deep bunkers and water obstacles, make the Gialle a technical and difficult course.

The player must pay attention to the strategy of play, especially on holes like the 2, par 4 of 330 meters, with a frontal water obstacle at the threshold of 200 meters from the tee and a small well-defended green. Hole 4, par 4 of 367 yards, forces the player to a perfect tee shot on the tilted fairway to the left with a water hazard to the right. The second shot should be fired towards a small elevated green and very well defended by large bunkers.
