History and traditions

1. On June 15, 1633, Louis XIII acquired the Fourqueux estate of 75 hectares to donate it to his doctor, Charles Bouvard. During the years that followed, the estate remained the property of the successors of the King's “tapper”.
2. In 1923, with the exception of the Villa Colin and the 1.5 hectare land kept by Charles and Marie Marret, the estate until then operated by a farmer, was leased to a circle for it. create a golf course. Léon Visinet, member of the Automobile Club ofIle-de-France, presides over the creation of the Golf & Tennis Club of Marly & Fourqueux.
3. The course was officially inaugurated on October 29, 1924. The golf course welcomes international championships and Arnaud Massy sets a course record there. With the war, the Fourqueux golf course ceased its activity on May 1, 1940. During the war, the area was used by German forces. Then it becomes again a property intended for the breeding of race horses.
4. In 1959, the announced closure of a golf course located in the town of Marly led a group of players to search for a nearby site to recreate a golf course.

The past and the beauty of the site appeal to the founding committee. The domain of Fourqueux is selected. On an area of ​​75 hectares, it was decided to revive a golf course with 27 holes within a green. The course is designed by Lou Petitt and Hawtree supervises the work.
