The Circolo Golf dell'Ugolino golf course was designed by an Englishman and an Irishman, Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon. They used the natural curves of the Chianti hills to create an exceptional course, passing through the surrounding vineyards, olive trees, maritime pines and broom.
The course is not long but requires a certain technical level. The greens are small and well defended by bunkers. Sloping fairways also present a serious challenge. Playing Ugolino isn't just about playing a game of golf, it's about walking through a landscape of great natural beauty, surrounded by olive groves and other fruit trees. It is an unforgettable and enriching experience.
In his book Fifty Places to Play Golf Before You Die, Chris Santella includes Ugolino among the most beautiful golf courses in Italy.
