Located south of Lisbon on a bank of the Tagus River, Aroeira Golf Resort is set in a 345 hectare estate close to the 30 kilometer long coast of Caparica. Course number 1 crosses a pine wood dotted with wild flowers in a park where many species of birds live. The English press calls it the "Wentworth of Lisbon", Wentworth is this very private British club, in Surrey, not far from Windsor Castle.
This course requires great precision and good starts in order to afford the possibility of taking the greens in regulation. Hole number 8 stands out from the rest, it is a par 3 of 190 meters with a very sloping green. It hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997 as well as several European Women's Tour competitions.
Like its brother, it is located south of Lisbon on a bank of the Tagus River in an area of 345 hectares close to the 30 kilometer long coast of Caparica. It is bordered by many pine trees and has several lakes and a temperate microclimate. With the opening of this second course, the Aroeira Golf Resort has become the largest golf center in the Lisbon region. The first holes are simpler than the last. The greens are very large, undulating and the bunkers are sometimes as deep as in Scotland.
