It was in 1960 that the Poitiers Golf Club was born, built by the American army around a hospital and the military base. It was the time for the development of amateur radio stations, service clubs, and for Poitiers, golf. After the departure of the Americans, golf experienced several years of turbulence until it was taken over by the University thanks to Denis Roch and Danièle Barthès.
Thus, in 1994, the University Golf of Poitiers was created under the name of Center Golfique des Châlons. From training teachers of Physical and Sports Education to mobilizing students from the France Bloch-Sérazin college, the Center Golfique des Chalons has acquired great notoriety in partnership with local communities and the University.
In September 2014, the Association du Center Golfique des Châlons made a new start, with a Board of Directors chaired by Alain Rivière. In 2017, the Association du Center Golfique des Châlons became GOLF DE POITIERS-CHÂLONS but kept the mission of managing and running the facilities of this site, which Grand Poitiers owns.
In addition to a course of 9 holes, with 18 starts, the Club offers several training spaces to accommodate schoolchildren, students and club members (practice, putting green, approach zones, courses suitable for the youngest).
The Poitiers-Châlons golf course is defined as a GOLF GAME learning tool for beginners as well as for experienced players. It is therefore a major actor in the democratization of golf in France.
It is accessible to external players (members and occasional players) at more than favorable conditions (price, quality of maintenance, privileged geographical location [5 minutes from the city center]).
The staff will be happy to welcome you to the club house every day of the week,
